Finnally got all My regestration and inspection done and went for a drive to see how all the kinks got worked out. Then I started hearing a noise when I was slowing down. It is a intermittened squeeking and it is coming from under the hood but when I stop the car and open the hood it stops so I have no idea where it coming from. I am still getting all my boost and it still runs like a bat out of hell blowing no smoke or anything. Could it be my power steering pump or idler has anyone had these go bad? Oh yeah I turned off my boost controller just to see what I would get without it and I am pushing 10psi all the time. I was reading that a stock 1JZ is only supposed to push 6psi so I am wondering if this is normal also. Thanks for all the help.

i noticed that you dont have a piggy back listed in your signature, since you seem like your very detailed about what mods you have. you should not be playing with the boost controller without a piggy back controlling your fuel/air flow. especially with the profec B spec II. :nono: your going to run really lean and end up melting something. btw my car made sounds under the hood after i swapped out my bad turboz. it sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere.

I have checked ito the boost leak and no hissing anywhere just sounds like a idler pully I shot wd-40 on it and the sound seems to have gone away. I bought the profec B from jotech in Dallas and they installed it for free they told me that if I didnt turn it up to much I would be fine but liek I said I havent had it dynoed so I am not sure what I am pushing just yet. Actually I have it on there I just havent messed with it. I am also about to take and plug off my factory blow off valve because I think it may be leaking because as I have read they are notorious for it. As for the piggy back I will ook into getting one I just am waiting for money, do I need a AFC or a emanage or what I havent tuned any turbo cars in a long time.

i wouldn't play with the boost controller without an afc. oh btw you should also get a wideband to monitor if your lean or rich.

Is the Apexi AFC any good for this setup or is there a better one. I am also about to invest in a emanage blue. So will that take place of the AFC or just be another add to it. I found the original problem I removed the belt and took a look at the idler pulley it has a bunch of rust on the shaft I guess that is where the squeeking is coming from. Can I just take some emory cloth and sandoff the rust or do I need to replace the whole unit.

You really should learn how the ECU functions as far as boost vs fuel enrichment.

I understand that part it isnt a problem the amount of boost that is produced has to be offset by additional fuel to support the larger amount of air to keep it from being rich. I already have someone to help me set up a map for the fuel curve I just need to know what is the best setup a Apexi AFC, a Greddy emanage ultimate, and a greddy profec b spec2 or does something else need to be in there for adding boost to the motor. These are all products that I have been looking into getting and have found them at a good price from a friend that is a dealer. Just wondering if that setup will help more than it wil hurt.

safc will do the trick. If you're feeling fruity, get the stinger4.

Also, don't worry about turning the boost up. The motor (and ecu) will handle 14 psi just fine. To make max power, you'll need some type of fuel controller...but it won't hurt.
