Speedo not working?

Hey guys, I'm currently away from home but my mate is looking after my mk3 supra
It's got the digital dash in it with the 1j conversion to manual as well
And the other day the speedo went to 0 and has stayed like that since. He had checked the sensor on the tran box and it seems fine. What else could it be? Could it be the sensor inside the gear box or anything?

Also he said it's mechanical not electronic

The cable prolly broke. It's pieces. Short piece near the trans usually breaks. Remove and spin it by hand and see if the other side spins.

That honestly may be the only issue. Usually when a speedo is no longer responsive its going to be the issue 9 times out of 10

If it's not the short one it's prolly the long cable.

I haven't had a look at it yet as i get home in 5 days so don't really know where the cables are aha
