Speed limiter??

My speedo does not currently work so I did not notice but somone said the Supras have 180 KM or about 120 MPH speed limiter on them, is this correct? I have a 88 Supra Turbo

The 1JZ motor (stock ECU) has speed cut at 120mph. The 7m ECU does not have a speed cut.

wait.. I thought the 1JZ was the same thing as 7M 86-92 and the 2ZJ was the newer 93-98

1JZ is the MK3's jap motor. 2JZ was for the MK4 (93-98)

the MK3 had 2 or 3 motors, 7M, 1J and i believe the 1G correct?

1JZ-GTE has a 180km/h (110mph) speed limiter, as do 7M-GTE's in Japan, if I remember correctly.

The Supra does NOT have a speed limiter in North America.

So many variables not to mention the error increases the faster you go!

I use a GPS speedo to get a better idea of how fast I'm actually going.

No, it was freezing cold, and he didn't feel like doing the paperwork. It was time for shift change too. He told me if he ever saw me going that fast again, he would take me to jail and write me so many tickets I would have to sell the car to pay them.
