I was window shopping on horsepowerfreaks.com and discovered liquid to air intercoolers. I never knew it there was such a thing! The below pic is the PWR Liquid to Air Barrel Intercooler and they claim that these intercoolers do not need external airflow so it could be mounted near the manifold, reducing turbo lag.

Does anyone have any experience with these intercoolers?

Welcome to stealth my friend... And yes, liquid to air ICs are much more efficient and do a better job at cooling... However: $$$$$$$$$... Most people dont use them because of that... IJ had one... IJ, why did you swap from the liquid/air back to the air/air IC?

I ran out of flow and capacity with the W2A and as Dow has noted the next size up barrel is an 8" diameter monster that wasn't going to fit anywhere in a Mk3!
