sparkplug wire pops off

my spark plug wire pops off at piston 6 when i get on the gas...whats the cause of this nd how can i fix it

Do you have the American-spec plugs in your car, or the J-spec plugs? American-spec spark plugs are just slightly shorter than the J-spec, so they just barely fit on and snap...this could be part of your problem. As for another possibility -- Engine vibration could be worse at the back of the motor than the front...? Defective wire that won't lock? Could be any one or combintation of those I'd say.

Make sure your plugs are torqued down and your threads arent stripped. I remember this happening in a friends mr2 and it turned out his spark plug threads were srtipped. Pressure would go past the threads and push the wire up

check your wires and the metal plate the runs across the spark plug valley. it should have a rubber coating.

when i used bosch plugs when they ran out of ngk's, i drove myself crazy trying to figure out why the kept popping off. apparently bosch and a few other manufacturers are a tad shorter.
just get some ngk's and call it a day
