its going to depend how bad the strip is really. your going to have to take the head out to a machine shop and have them retap it. also you are going to need to check to make sure that no slivers of AL got into the cycl where you stripped it. sucks man :( almost had that happen to me

Problem with a helicoil is like MKiiiNA said "slivers of metal in cylinder". You could try to vacuum out through the plug hole but you never know if you got all of the shavings and if you didn't kaboom!

Shavings not a problem. Taking the guillotine as we speak and popping the head off to deal with a few other head-aches, ha, get it, head....aches? I slay me. But If what I think happened did I'll post some pics for the obligatory oo's and ah's.

If you get it helicoiled ask them to NOT run the HeliCoil tap right through the hole as the end thread of the helicoil can work it's way down a touch and protrude into the Combustion Chamber making your car a "Glowplug ignition Supra"!

This is a BAD thing for a few reasons ;)!
