spark plug wire order

I've searched through two online manuals, and done a search on here.

I just replaced my spark plugs and wires and now the car won't start. I have the wires plugged in onto the distributor on top of the valve covers from going (from left to right) 1,6,3,4,2,5. is that the right order?

I made sure to only replace one wire at a time and plugged it in exactly as they were when they came out. But when I try to start the car it sounds like (to me and my step dad) that its firing in the wrong order. please help!

Ok, so I did another search on here and on SF and came up with two different answers. I got shaeff saying what I already have, which is 1,6,3,4,2,5. and somebody else saying 1,5,3,6,2,4

Yah, I dunno what happened, but I just went back to it with it in order of 1,6,3,4,2,5 and it somehow worked. I had it exactly the same as I had it before.

1-6-3-4-2-5 is the spark plug order
1-5-3-6-2-4 is the firing order

Thank you. Thats good knowledge to know. but Why wouldnt they just put the order on the coil pack the same as the firing order (or vice versa).

Mine is written on top of my Coil Pack but its written wrong I think. The Firing order is written on it not the coil pack order.

The point of having a DLI setup like ours, allows a coil to fire 1/3 as often, allowing it to build up a better charge before discharging and creating a spark.

Each coil goes to a pair of "sister" cylinders. 1 & 6, 3 & 4, 2 & 5 are always in the same position, relatively speaking. (When cylinder 1 is at TDC, so is 6, though one is on compression and one is on exhaust stroke).

It's just the way it has to be in a wasted spark DLI setup like we have. ;)
