i was out driving around trying to get an adapter for my SSQV and it started acting up REAL bad. check engine light would come on then dump black smoke like a diesel.

check codes....got a code 0 which is the ECU. thats 2 ecu's fried in 3 months!!! wtf is going on here??????

is there something with the wiring that could cause this shit to burn out ecu's? im soo bummed......

That sucks! It could be a coincidence, but I think it has to be a problem with the wiring. Is your harness extended, or did you use the speedo hole?

tissimo and i extended it. i fried out my other ecu if you remember. the caps blew out but it was more ignition on that one. this one here seems like its the injector caps. both ecu's did fifferent things when they popped.

im soo lost. i want to drive my SUPRA!!! and my DD honda blew out a tire on the highway AND i got backed into by that Semi!!!! BAD WEEK/WEEKEND!!!!!

Dude, I am so sorry about your weeks. Maybe you should just stay home...LOL

You should re-open your harness and look it over. Also what I know about the harness is when you extend it you should try to use as little soder as possible.
To much creates resistance. Then shrink wraps the wire. This comes from Jimmy the dude that wires up cars down here.

yea we didn't use much solder. and we heat wrapped them all.

i know man i might just stay at home all next week too. haha.

i need to get this fixed asap

like they have said, its prolly arching, if you have a multi meter, check to see if there is no loose connections. 2 ECUs isn't a coincidence.

actually now that i think about it and someone correct me if in wrong.

The power wire for the injectors and coils is shared. Ill try to find u a good diagram

hmmmm good ideas guys. Tissimo is going to try the ecu in his car if it works fine then its definitely wiring. we'll check for grounds. cause it seemed like it would get a good connection (no CEL) then it would get a bad connction (CEL) and flicker back n forth. when the CEL would come on it would run like ass then run good again after awhile then go back to ass.

You got it, I've got a diagram for a standalone that I'll post later.. it's just a more simplified version of the stock ECU basically.

I opened the ecu up.. looks like maybe the case was touch a couple of the pins (case was pretty beat up, couple holes in the protective cover on the case) dunno if that really was the problem though.. I pulled the case off and retested it, it flashed for a sec but then sold cel again.. a couple caps look like the might of been leaking so i'll replace them..
