This might be a little long but I need to vent a little...

So about mid March I put my supra in the shop to get the powersteering rack and timing belt changed. I figured since it was gonna be in the shop I might as well get a tune up and get my newly acquired LSD put in too. So the guy tells me it'll be about a week or two and cost no more than $1000. So I was like what the hell, go for it. Two weeks pass, the guy keeps giving me BS excuses as to why the car isn't done and keeps doing crap to the car that I didn't ask for. The only reason I put up with it is because my dad takes all of his cars over to this guy and they're pretty close, my dad trusted him 100% so I did too. Any way, a freaking month and a half later (yesterday) I get my damn car back and the asshole had rewired what I had already rewired!! So after fixing my wiring back I found out that my brake lights didn't work anymore, (I had JUST freaking fixed them before I put the car in the shop). So I spent all of last night and most of today working on that with my dad. Finally figured out I just had to resolder an element in the Lamp Failure module and BOOM my lights worked again. So I was sooooooo freaking happy that I finally had my car in driving condition and everything was working so I wanted to go cruising and so I did. My mom wanted me to stop at the store for a couple things so I did and when I come out to start my car...nothing. The damn alternator is shot now, WTF!!! BAHHHHHH!! Not only that, but I had to clutch kick my car to get home and my dad was pushing me from behind in his truck so I could get a good rolling start and now my bumper is all jacked up. I am soooooooo pissed off right now, but I love this car too damn much and remembered why I loved it so much when I drove it, so I think I'm gonna take a little break from the car, build up the funds again and then go at it again. Sorry for the long post again, just needed to get it all out. :aigo:

Yeah that definitely sucks dude, but why oh why did you have your dad push the supra with his truck. Ive pushed my supra down the road myself, once you get it rolling its not so bad. Oh well whats done is done, just stay strong and keep your head up man. My car broke down a month after I started driving it. All in all Ive had the car for almost 6 months and have only driven it for one :(

I was in a parking lot in flat flat central florida so I kind of needed a decent amount of speed over a short distance. I had a couple of towels inbetween the two bumpers to try and reduce the rubbing, but his bumper sat a little higher than mine and spider webbed the paint in two places and cracked some of it off. But I know how you feel about the ownling it for 6 months and driving it for 1...I've only driven mine maybe 4 or 5 times and I got it in September

I purchased my 91, it broke down before I put 3k miles on it. I went through everything I could to try to fix it myself and lacked the required tools and probably need a bit more skill. Took it to toyota after a month of trying and are currently ragging there ass about fixing it properly. I am supposed to take it in on manday of next week so they can. We'll see how it goes from there.

Man I know the feeling. Bought my car.. rewired the inside.. doors.. radio.. lights.. Put a drive shaft in it.. Brakes, new rotors. Ran hot.. blew the head gasket.. got that fixed.. injector seals went bad.. fixed that.. Got my car running for around 3 months.. lucky me. Then the rear end started making noise. Groaning. Looked at it and the threads for the rear plug on the rr housing where stripped. Replaced oil, lsd was still good, plugged it. Today, stopped at a stop light, waited, started moving and slip.. whoops.. slip.. WTF.. pulled over and the pinion is shot.. and the lsd.. Now I gotta find a new diff. Anyone know of someone near me that has a rear end for one. Knoxville is the closest large city to me. Dont say junkyard because they dont exist with supras in them around here.
So yeah man. I know exactly how you feel. I got the hebby jebbies about the guy whos working on mine. I am just sick of not being able to enjoy my car. Like you, it flat out pisses me off. But I love the car. :1zhelp:

what I find amazing is that before I bought this car....., I researched it. I didn't find these sites till it was too late. I never saw anything bad about the car before I bought it. Never herd of anyone having problems with them. Till I found this site and the supra forums.
