AFAIK, MKIII's didn't make it to '93 in the US. But yeah, I'd have an easier time believing he got the year wrong... that or it's an absolute beater of a MKIV.

I found a black 5spd MKIV for 9k... it was a beater w/ 170k miles and a lot of problems. It was terribly abused.
