When I drive and i take my rpms past 3000 theres a weird low whistling sound. I knwo its not the turbo and it just started today, has anyone else ever had this problem?

I don't see how you can go 3000 rpm when driving, and NOT boost. I'd bet it's a small boost leak.
No its boostin, its just after the boost kicks in I hear that, it died down alot today though. I'm not sure.
So what you are saying is that when you are accelerating and boost is building, the sound becomes audible at 3k+ rpms?
And this just started happening? Have you done any mods on the intake/exhaust real recently?
If not, the its probably a small number of things:
1. Turbo might be dying - check it for shaft play
2. Boost leak - busted clamp/hose somewhere
3. Boost leak - busted bov

I thikn i found the problem, my moms boyfriend who works on big trucks mostly says that they get sounds liek that when theres a leak going to the turbo, so i made sure all the clamps were tight, I mean i really tightened them, and sure enough the sound went away.
