hey everyone i was putting in a new mbc today and driving my car agressive. and noticed that when i do a very hard 1-2 shift my car makes this really weird whinning noise and i smell tranny fluid? It is really annoying. When shifting slowly i don't ever have a problem shifting 1-2 only when going really hard, this doesn't happen in any other gear also.

oh yeah i have basic mods: intake, 3.5 exhaust, 1bar boost, fmic. this is in a soarer btw

Sounds like your syncro are starting to go.
I am having similar issues but from 3rd to 4th. At Wot it has a hard time going into gear.
I'll probobly rebuild it in the near future just to have it solid.

its not hard to go into gear at all, its easy as hell but as soon as i hit the gas again it just makes a horrible winding sound. And a strong smell of tranny fluid. goes in perfectly fine, just makes a horrible noise

Sounds like an issue in the tranny still, but there's one simple thing you can check beforehand. Make sure that the shifter is tightly bolted down. I know it sounds silly, but it takes five minutes to check. My shifter actually had all four bolts holding it down come loose, and it had a terrible time shifting into first and second.

Dirty or worn sincro.

Put the car up on stands.

Drain the fluid.

Fill with ATF.

Start car.

Put in first. Let out clutch. Let car "idle drive" for 10-30 minutes. Repeat in 2nd gear. untill transmission is warm.

Turn car off.

Drain into clean pan.

Inspect for metal.

Refill with heavy weight gear oil.

Drive car. See if the problem has gone away.
