I havn't been on the boards much in the last 2 years because i soild my supra but about 3 months ago i just kinda woke up one morning jumped on craigslist and started looking for another one, I swear supras are like a bad drug i thought i was over them and then all of a sudden i'm relapsing. To make things worse my supra was the worst/best most car i ever had lol (high milage, very abused) but when it ran it was right and i loved it. I ended up selling the car because i was starting college and a new job and wanted somthing more reliable but like we all know "reliable"=boring, FWD ,econbox

old supra
-rebuilt 7mgte .20 over pistons
-3" down pipe and exhaust
-CAI
-boost controller
-hard pipes
-bov
-SAFC
-LC-1 wideband
-tanabe springs
-kyb agx shocks

Problems i had lol
-bad heater core
-2 bad head gaskets (had a cometic shear into 3 layers)
-crank pully came apart
-knock sensor wiring
-starter
-starter wiring
-3 bad abs sensors
-bad water pump
-bad cps
-random boost leaks
-throttle braket thingy broke
-accelorater cable broke
-speedo cable broke
-i'm sure theres more that i just forgot lol

So heres the hard facts i'm 22 years old , full time college student with 2 years left on a mechanical engineering degree but live at home, work 25-30 hours a week plus random side jobs i do, and commute about 45 miles a day but me and my friends rent a 7 car shop in the city where i do all my work and go to school.
Right now i already have 2 cars my daily 1994 infiniti G20 touring model (has a few basic bolt ons ES bushings, moog replacment suspension parts, bigger rear swaybar, CAI, exhaust and LSD ) and my 1985 toyota mr2 (rebuilt 4age with a 60 trim t3,a2w intercooler, running on megasquirt and a few other goodies).
Now what i was thinking was sell the infiniti and buy a decent shape supra and daily the supra or daily the mr2 and buy a mk3 shell and build what i want. I am really confused at the moment as to what to do, any advice sugestions, comments on how i'm retarted lol

I'd say you're set as is, personally. I have 1 fast car (the Mk3) and one reliable car (the Mk2). I can daily either (that's part of my goal with my 'fast' car, to make it 100% daily driven no matter what I do to it), but it's nice to have the peace of mind that if something DOES happen to the Mk3 (the current daily) I can go hook up the battery in the Mk2 and get to work.

Continue DD-ing the G20, do nothing to it that isn't necessary, and either modify the crap out of the MR2 (if it suits your driving style) or start setting aside money for a car that will suit you. Personally I'd love an MR vehicle, but given the way our weather is around here for 5-6 months a year, it would be tricky to daily one. They have a bad reputation of being very difficult to control in deep snow. ;)

Whatever you do... don't put yourself in a financial bind over a car, especially if you already have two good running ones. Ask me how I know thiSS. And no, my caps lock isn't stuck. ;)

Hehe just dont let this happen unless you have the money. Btw we were swapping around the tail lights. Also what makes this picture worse is you cannot see the one in the right bay of my shop. Also this is my shop behind my house.

NA Supras make great DD's, the key is maintenance, and no matter what, DO NOT MOD IT, no intakes, no exhausts, no headers, etc. keep that son of a bitch OEM, exterior mods are fine, but once you hear a non-muffled intake/exhaust noise in the Supra, you're hooked and go all out..

do what I do, have the fast project car in the garage, and a bone-stock DD, and drive the DD like a granny..

Everytime some ricer wants to race, i just think to myself "You know this shit's slow, there's nothing to prove, if I want to go fast, I'll take my Turbo out and whip some hondas"..

N/a Supras DO make excellent DD's, I second this suggestion. I have daily driven all three of the Supras I've had for extended periods of time, they're a lot of fun and certainly unique. Suspension, tires, brakes, and stereo (nothing fancy or 'go fast' parts) were all I did to my 88, and I loved that car.

get a supra and a girlfriend. when the sup breaks make the woman drive you around.

sounds good on paper.

Just gotta find the right girl. My old lady doesn't mind driving around if need be. I think my style of attacking corners is rubbing off on her a bit too. :)

To help your search, I suggest AutoTempest it grabs results to your radius setting from eBay Motors, Craigslist, Cars.com, Cars Direct.com, and AutoTrader!!

Hahaha i did that the first time i had my supra but don't think my girlfriend would be as kool about it the second time around. Whats kinda funny my girlfriend always said she hated that car but she loved driving it and hard lol i always called here a closet supra fan but she does come form a family that any given time has at least 3 mustangs. I like the idea of DD a NA supra so that might be real option or even finding a clean mk2 p type would be kinda kool

Mk2's are different, but in mostly good ways. For example, they're a lot lighter, more nimble (I LOVE the slip angle on the A6x chassis), and roomy, and you sit quite a bit lower in the seat as well. I love mine though, had it for nearly 2 years now, it's been a solid daily for me for over a year. Once I got the Mk3 back up and running though, I put the Mk2 in storage for occasional use. :)
