Dumb or not?

So I have ALWAYS loved the 65-69 4 door Lincoln Continental sedan. Black on black with white walls. Well I was driving around a few days ago and spoted it. A 66 black Lincoln, 120k miles, black interior. For Sale.

I called the guy and he said he wants 1500 for it and I know I can work this guy to accept 750. It's all original, it would need paint and the chrome to be redone. I figure I could strip the paint off it, and paint it flat black untill I was able to afford a full paint job.

It would basicaly be a restoration as I can afford it. The car does run so I would be driving it as it was being fixed up. If you didnt know, I am planning on selling the Mercedes, so I would pick up a daily driver and then have this car for fun.

I know its not fast, doesnt handle well, and gets bad gas milage, but I'm in LOVE with the looks!

That looks very similar to, if not the same as, the lincoln they used in the original matrix....would be a very cool ride - especially if you restored it to original condition. However, a cooler ride, imo, is the 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner - it just looks like a badass :D

i love those lincolns. maybe give it a chop, also, when the money is there?

Yea, I have been checking out a few websites of people to have rebuilt their Lincolns on the side, as they can afford it, and it takes 3-5 years with about 300 a month into it. They end up spending about 15-20k to fix it up and then they seem to sell for around 28k-30 when there all restored.

I woudent be in a huge rush to rebuild it, just as it comes.

White walls = blah...

I'd go with black on black, some nice like 18-19" deep dish rims and slam that beyotch. That's just me though.

I could see it as a pretty cool car. But on a side note, what's with the shift to rolling yachts?? First Kyle, now you?? hehe

I have been in the same boat with that exact same car and the 1966 T-bird. My plan was to update the interior in new leather preferably black on black and update the interior/electronics w/ custom red interior lights replacing the stockers.

Ever since i saw a fully restored baby blue T-bird in my town w/ 19's and SOMETHING supercharged w/ a beautiful sounding exhaust i have wanted one of these two. But ya gotta go to the next level w/ the engine though. It may not be fast but these would make the ultimate weekend cruisers.

Hmm the money you'll make off the Benz and only some into this car and extra cash? Hell yeah.

I think he's talking about selling the CLK, picking up another daily and one of those as a resto project - I'm not too sure how well one of those would hold up as a daily...

Anyway. I'll past.

Not a fan at all, but it could make to be an interesting project

Please try to get pics when you go to see the car.

$1500 seems like a pretty good price for a car that cool , but I'd still rather have a chevy ;)
