i think i am finally done with my supra. the passenger side is SMASHED, there is a knock in the engine, it leaks oil form the valve gaskets, and the tps needs to be adjusted.

so.

i found a white n/a 5spd for 1200 bucks about an hour away form where i live. nothing wrong with it besides a very chips in the paint on the passenger side.

i want to put a 2jz engine in it, and get one small turbo for low rpm, and one BIG turbo for high rpm, AFTER i rembuild the engine entirely with solid, dependable parts, and have all the rubber pipping turned to metal ones. with about 15 psi of boost, how much hp do you gusy think i will have, or is this build even worth my time? also, anyone wanna buy my hunk of crap supra?

My point is you need to live so be realistic about how much of your income you can spend.

Then factor in how much of the work you can actually do yourself without mistakes (once you get to this point mistakes are damn expensive) this will give you an idea how much you're going to have to pay a pro to do the rest.

If I were you I'd save up and buy a car that already been done or failing that snap up a project someone has almost finished and has given up on.

I'm not trying to discourage you but you're biting off a hell of a lot here.

U don't need a small turbo for low rpm and a big turbo for high rpm. Get a properly sized single turbo for the type of power and response you want.

A white n/a 5spd for 1200 bucks with nothing wrong with it besides some chips in the paint on the passenger side is a good deal. Mine was na 5spd advertised for 1800, I told him I'd give him 1600, and gave him 1400. Stereo, antenna, rear wiper, spare, jack were missing. Interior was mismatched blue/grey and missing pieces, 210,000 miles on it with a supposed jdm 7mge swap @ 80k. Also has a dent in the driver's door.

2jz already comes with solid, dependable parts. To build a 2jz I hope you have a huge stash of money hidden somewhere. Look up JT2MA71's build in the gallery. Stock IC pipes in an mk4 are for a side-mount intercooler, if you do a 2jz swap especially with an aftermarket turbo you will HAVE to change the piping.

At 15psi on your imaginary mismatched twin turbos I don't know how much power you will make. They will probably surge and your engine will blow.

Judging by your last paragraph I would say no it is not worth your time.

Edit: Wow when I hit reply IJ was the only one that replied. TV is distracting.

well, ok..forgive my ignorance...two medium turbos then? i dont know much how turbos work...or how much boost is too much...but...let me ask you this...with a 2jz engine, how much cash will i need to make about 400 hp? cuz a 2jz puts od 320 stock, right? so i need to make 80 hp..that isnt too difficult, right?

You posted your income, not your budget. Have you shopped for a 2jz yet? Are you going to install it yourself? What are you going to do about the wiring changes, and the other difficulties of the swap?

You're asking a huge vague question, and you need to do a lot more reading around before you ask questions. We cannot determine if the swap is right for you, you will have to do your own research and decide on your own.

Maybe you should look into a 2JZGE-T swap and going with a single to suit your power goals.

There are quite a few people already in the process of the swap, and at least one person I know of here has already finished. It looks like it could be the next big thing for MKIII owners...

Just a thought.

i honestly will vote for the 2jzge option, they arent as pretty and usually say lexus on it but they are much most cost effective (engines are 1/10 the price as 2jzgte, come with all of your emissions stuff, and since you will have to go single turbo anyway both both you can actually afford a kit with the GE)
