so, I'm 99.9% sure this will be pointless, but my car refused to warm up

engine stayed cold for waaaay too long, so long in fact it never got up to operating temp.

test#1 heater blowing hot air? not really

test#2 do I have coolant? yes

test#3 loose coolant temp sender connection? no

test#4 TBD I'll check and see if the car has a damn thermostat, or if it's stuck open... tomorrow, you know, when the sun's up. :nono:

that's the only thing I can figure... what do yall think?

~30 f

I drove about 15 min. and my temp gauge was starting to move up to half-way (I mean 1/4) half way to being warm

I drove 10 min back (after watching a movie at my friend's house) and it wouldn't move over 1/5 of it's full range (cold to overheating)

I pulled over on the first drive, because it just wasn't warming up... I checked everything I could, and just kept driving it easy to where I was going, since I was half-way there.

looks like I was right ;)

yeah... I know I said I would wait for the sun to come up, but I checked the weather, and it wasn't going to get any warmer. So, I said fuck it, why wait?

so now, I'm sure I have a bunch of rubber shit stuck in my rad. wth are you supposed to do about that?

Flush rad or Buy new rad. And chances are its everywhere in the cooling system from the rad to the block to the heater core to the turbo.

That also looks like stop leak which is a very bad sign.

One reason I don't use T stats with the elastomer seal. At least change it once in a while.
I literally just got the car... WTH man

here we go with the JJ assumptions again... I see you didn't learn your lesson from the last time we conversed. :nono:

well I did get a new 190 degree thermostat, and the car heats up in about 4-5 min.... whoever had the car before me totally fucked the gauges, I'll be working on this tomorrow, but almost all of my gauges are off one way or another... on another side note I blew off my first IC pipe on this car ;)... looked like a loose clamp... also resolved a hair of random sputtering @ cruise speeds. engine runs real strong, although it's extremely restricted ATM... just rebuilt, ported head on otherwise stock everything

and for all you nutbars concerned about something you have almost no control over (safety, especially mine) I've yet to take it over 90... fastest I've been passing people on the freeway on my return trip across 4 states.

you're right about that... so much information/knowledge I don't know how any could grasp it all

I have to admit though, the vast majority of "fast driving" (net even that fast) is to get out of traffic, I hate hanging out near other cars waiting for something to go wrong
