So I guess this is the end of the burgandy pearl 88.

I have decided that I'm going to part it out. I've had it with the 5500 rpm thing, I've had this car for 4.5 years now, and its just time for it to go and start fresh. I hate to let it go, and I'm going to miss it. Its just that this problem has given me trouble for well over a year now, the cops all know the car very well, and I can't go anywhere without getting watched and followed... Also, everyone knows how fast it is, and I can't even hustle money out of newbs at the drag strip anymore...

So... its time to build the mark four now. I am NOT leaving the community, or becoming one of the "mk4 assholes". I have a very deep respect for the mk3, and I still enjoy it. I will have another one day, its just that I don't seem to have good luck with this one. Mechanically, its been a champ, its just the bugs in the car... the car and the standalone don't get along very well...

Be on the lookout for a 600+ rwhp mk4 around here very soon... NA-T style. I'm going to be doing an aem, GTE pistons, t66, and lots of other goodies. It will also have a boostlogic auto. I'm going to build a much faster car this time around.

Anyway....just wanted to say that I'm not leaving, just changing cars for a while. When I come back with a mk3, you will all know about it.

So I'll be around and I won't become a snob. I will still be glad to answer any 7m related questions or mk3 questions for anyone that needs help. I took mine pretty far, so I've learned a little along the way.

Oh yes.... and be on the lookout for something from me 7m powered very soon. It won't be a supra this time, but it will be cool.

I hate to see you get rid of the MKIII Chris, but I don't blame you one bit. Sometimes certain cars just have bugs that you can't seem to get rid of. I know the MKIV will be a beast and I"m loving the built automatic. I wish mine was still auto,, but I don't mind changing gears.

At least your car won a few awards before you decided to get rid of her. I"m hoping to win a few next year..........:icon_bigg

thats the thing about the mk4. I won't win shit with the mk4. Even at 600+ hp through a built auto, it will most like run 10's and just be another mild single turbo mk4...

Thats fine though, it will make me happy.... and thats what really counts. Plus I will still own this town in the street car department. lol

Good for you! In the end its just a car. I know all about frustrating gremlins that wont go away. Start fresh later. In the meantime enjoy the mk4 build.

GL man, hope to see you rocking that next year at TX. Maybe we will have to take to the highway (as I may get bored of the holset and find something with a 12mm bigger inducer)

Why dont you take that motor out and put in a 1j or even the 2j just for fun. Im assuming you have the 7m right now in your car.

You should consider trying to sell it first. A part out is a lot of work in selling, pulling, packing, shipping, communicating. I have parted several, and have semi-retired from that due to all the time it takes. Good luck with the MKIV! Good luck with the part out or sale of this car as well.

nah, I just happened to run across a deal on an mk4 when I got back. and at first, I was going to keep both... but I've grown tired of the mk3's bugs(this particular one) and am just burnt out on it.

Not to be an asshole but you've come pretty far and you're going to give up rather than fix the problem your having with the 7m? I dont understand I just woul'dnt give up I guess or take a loss. And I mean if you cant figure out the 5.5k rpm thing after 4.5 years are you sure you want to jump into a mk4 na-t with an aem?
