my supra barely makes it up my driveway in the snow. I can be going like 5mph and the back end will slde out.

I don't know how anyone can drive a supra in the snow...I drove my black '85 ONE time when I was in Mass and I was scared out of my mind. The car would creep forward, only at a slant, the right rear side kept inching forward and I couldn't keep it straight. If I ever go back to Mass, and HAVE to drive, I'll be packing like 400lbs of sandbags in the back! :aigo:

thanks :)

also, besides it being hard to control, you're also begging for the salt to eat up your car. and as you may be able to negotiate the car well, there's a million bufoons driving around who could very well slam into you. I'd buy a junker POS FWD car for that task...

AWD, Like my Subaru Legacy is the only way to go.
That car is awesome in the snow. Even with shitty tires, and I'm in MA.

and, lol..
not to offend, but northern US gets our fair share of snow. I know plenty about snow, and I dont live in canada.
I've driven in 18" of snow, too much for the towns/cities to keep up with, running from cops is funny in a snow storm, since they're driving Ford Crown Victorias with chains on the rear tires... All you have to do is cut it sideways and blast down a sidestreet and he's gone.

^^^ This is very true. Also in Mass got chased out of a parking lot by a crown vic not too long ago, but easily took some corners and werent even in the same town before he could even see our snow caked plates...I believe the crown vic's arent bad in the snow (my friends Impala SS was a boat and got through anything) its just the cops that back off too easily.:biglaugh:

id like to add, i had a set of tires "siped" (sp) once on my truck and i tell you what, that was an awsome improvement on the ice and snow. well worth it..

you're also begging for the salt to eat up your car.

Out here they don't use salt actually.. put throw down other chemicals and/or very coarse sand, which will destroy the paint on the hood of your car.

I drove my supra a full winter in Colorado before getting an Xterra. I've been caught in a couple snow storms with the Supra since, but as long as my tires are good I'm actually able to handle it very well.

Tires are absolutely the key. It's been a while since I posted this pic, so I'll throw it up again - my car in the winter here, stock rims and snow tires. I get better traction than SUVs with all seasons. This is also halfway up a mountain, so all the roads are either UP or DOWN.
