Still iced in here, and now they're performing rolling blackouts because the power grid is overtaxed. Good thing we have a gas fireplace...

You won't get much sympathy from me sir. It was -19 AMBIENT here this morning. it's gotten up to about -12. Wind chill is pretty much one of those "might kill ya" things right now. Think the point where Celsius and Fahrenheit cross paths on the low end of the spectrum. ;)

We just got two solid days of ice here...not much snow. Thought about using a pickaxe to get inside my car...but alas I was nice to it and just let it defrost for 30 mins :)

i'm bad, i'm nationwide
we were spared the ice in my area....but not the negative teens, and 40-50mph winds. i tell ya, standing on top of an oil tank unprotected in the middle of some god-forsaken cow pasture really makes ya second guess your career choice. turns out i was only one of two guys that bothered showing up for work.....

...makes me look forward to the expected 28 degrees friday...

i did notice an interesting thing last night though. i use a spotlight to light up my work area. while on the tanks, i noticed that i could feel a difference when i walked into the meat of the beam. not a big one, but a difference none the less. maybe it was in my head, but i found it a little strange...

Man, for some reason my area didn't get any of this snow storm, even though everything was closed for it. I think we might have gotten 2 or 3 inches and they said we were gonna get 2 feet.

It has been such a mild winter here on the west coast, just rain all winter. Glad we don't have what you guys are going through right now.

Houston actually did get snow today, closed off a lot of highways too. Our main office is down there, they've all taken the day off. probably deserve it though, they've been busy. Unfortunately, a lot of our suppliers decided to take the week off due to the weather too, and it's impacted OUR operations up here...

Makes me miss living in Phoenix this time of year. Back in 2008 it was REALLY rainy, there was rain at least once or twice a week for around 3-4 months that winter. It was unseasonably green that year. :)
