Smoking, sputtering, stalling...

Was driving today and everything was pretty normal. I got on it (after warmed up) in 1st to about 6k one time. When I got to the next light, the car started shaking and I saw I was idling at like 450-500rpm. Looked in the back mirror and smoke was just POURING out of it (grayish, smelled bad. I'm sure it's burnt oil). Managed to putt it to a parking lot and shut her down. Temps were normal during all of this.

Checked the oil and it was about a half quart low. Tried starting it up again about 10 minutes later and the same thing happened...Smoke and sputter. Then after about 15min when one of my friends showed up, I started it up and it seemed to be running/idling fine. I topped off the oil and tried to get her home.

After about 5 miles of babying it, I accidentally got very near to boosting. Soon after, the car sputtered and just stalled while I was driving. She started back again and I got it to another parking lot. Let it sit like 30 minutes and was able to drive it another mile or so. Then let it sit longer and then finally made it the last mile home.

What can you guys diagnose from this, if anything? I'm thinking turbos/seals are bad (it's a 1jz btw). If it was bhg, wouldn't the smoke be white and sweet smelling? Coolant levels were fine and no overheating.

Thanks for any help.

Im no pro, but that doesnt sound like a BHG to me. Sounds like turbo seals from what I know. Have you looked around under the hood for any signs of anything busted?

Is there any heavy knocking?
