Hello!

So my BHG repair is now complete. Car turns on, idles, does not overheat, filled with 6 quarts of oil, flushed and new antifreeze, timed, new spark plugs, and valve stem seals.

The only problems I have now are a code 24 and smoke coming from directly under the turbo. I'm 100% positive that all the fittings were tightened nice and tight and the adapters tightened to specs from TSRM. I currently have the Driftmotion Softline kit installed which was a PITA to put on. The smoke looks like it comes from where the flange meets underneath the turbo. It appears to be white and not blue colored, so does this mean it's not oil? I left the car on for a while thinking it may have been some antifreeze or oil I spilled around there but it did not stop. Tomorrow I plan on lifting the car with a jack and checking for any leaks. However, after the car cooled down today, I slipped my hand under the turbo where the DM flange is and felt no leaks. Tomorrow it will be examined closer.

If no leaks are found, does this mean my turbo is toast? I mean I doubt it has anything to do with my valve stems since they were replaced with Viton Seals. Prior to replacing the HG this did not occur.

Its prolly grease from the head job. unless your losing oil or coolant i would just drive it so it can burn off.

oil burns white as well.

Thanks Hvy

Anyways I could test my oil pressure sensor? Sorry to ask another question but you seem very knowledgeable on these engines. When I flip my key to the on position, the needle moves up a bit and goes back down to 0. While the car is idling it remains at 0. I really do not want to spend 40 bucks on a pressure gauge tester that I'll use once in my lifetime. I've heard of tests saying to remove the connector from the sensor and grounding it to the negative terminal on the battery but it seems unclear. Any suggestions?

I do believe I am getting pressure since the car was idling for a good 4 hours in total over days and no unusual noises have been heard.

Raise the rpm to 3k. It should go. Stock gauge at idle is going to be around 0 or a little above. They vary a bit. And you won't get a reading until the engine has pressure.

If you ground the wire the gauge should be pegged.

It seems your assumptions were correct Hvy! Started the car up today and a lot less smoke barely visible. I plan on turning it on tonight and letting it run once more before I take it for a drive. As for the oil pressure, I removed the plug from the sensor, cleaned it with some electric parts cleaner, and grounded the side that clips on the block to the negative terminal of the battery. Nothing happened, the gauge remained at 0 with no movement.

So this means the wiring or actual gauge is damaged correct?

Okay hvy, started the car up today thinking everything was okay but then the smoke came back. Same spot, right where the exhaust housing meets the turbo's intake housing. I checked to make sure all of the fittings were tight and they were. No leaks at all.

Put the car in reverse to take it off the ramps and blue smoke came out from the exhaust. Same for putting it back on the ramps. So blown turbo? Or am I missing something else. There is absolutely no oil leaking and the smoke is coming from right under it.
