great idea - i should start a parts delivery service for the SM community. all id need is a panel van/trailer and ship from one member to the next!

picture this:

you'd love that replica gracer bumper but itll cost too damn much to ship! say hey, give clip a call and have him come pick it up! he'll do it for the price of gas and meals, and if you have someone near you that needs a pickup/dropoff it'll be even cheaper!

genius! it would take care of all the problems of shipping: overpricing? gone! broken parts? gone! slow delivery? gone!

it should all work out, watch for this service to come into effect in case i have a midlife crisis

Price of gas and meals will likely be more than it is to ship most parts more often than not.

Postal services have tracking numbers and insurance. What happens if my 300 dollar part is damaged during shipping because of an accident or some other unforseen event? Come out of your pocket?

I'm not seeing the part where this is beneficial to the seller, buyer, or you. :dunno:

i was thinking along the lines of bigger stuffs from partouts, things that would only ship freight and then stuff in surrounding states.

no it wont be beneficial to the owner of the delivery business for reasons everyone knows: wear and tear on the vehicles, rising gas prices and so on.

however, it'd be a cool experience kinda like buying a car and hiring someone to drive it cross country for you.

i'm not saying this is feasible, im just saying that if i make millions or hit the lottery id love to lend a service like this to SM

I don't usually do this.

Check that - I have NEVER done this.

I really try to avoid pissing in other's cheerios, BUT, this thread must belong in the "Who's drunk right now section".

If not, it is simply pointless. Fail.

it's full of epic brainstorming. brainstorming = monstrous fail with an occasional whiff of success. this obviously isnt one. i'll keep trying.

did i mention i'm going to open the grocery tiger right next to food lion?

Sorry man, like I said - I don't like raining on anyone's parade.

I just got a slight headache when I read the post - I think I even got a bit dumber.
