Today I took the water pump off to have a look. Everything inside was clean and the water was clean ( though I think it is very new ) but the long bolts on the top right where covered with this brown goo. Where do those long bolts go through to? Why would they be all sludgy like that? What little relevant info I could find searching suggests BHG. Any thoughts?

Interesting. Ok. There is also a ton of oil and sludge on that side of the engine, looks like a P.S. leak. Hopefully that is part of it. Thanks for the advice.
Anyone else?

The lines to your oil cooler are usually weeping through by now if they haven't been replaced, and they are on that side. They only cost a couple dollars - well under $10 - to replace with new oil hose from any auto parts place.

The one end to the oil filter fitting is a PITA to get back on, though.

Its an N/A, no oil cooler right?

There was an auto tranny oil cooler but its gone, doesn't seem like the lines went by there anyway.

Just looking at most of the stuff I am taking out, doesn't look like I will be keeping much. I will probably re-do every line that stays. Thanks for the advice guys.
