If the fuel pump resistor on a 92 Supra Turbo (7mgte) (little silver box that bolts on to the FPR bracket on the exhaust side fenderwall) wasnt plugged in, the car would, start but wouldnt run for more than a few sec, am i correct?

if the resistor isnt plugged in, i cant see the car starting at all unless you jumper it with a wire. so your answer is probably. :)

What shaeff said.

The resistor pack is there to limit the current to the injectors. It's needed because the injector coils are low "impedance" (an incorrect term btw). Without the resistor pack the coils in the injectors would fry in short order.

Since the injectors are supplied with 12 volts through the resistor pack disconnecting it would result in no injector operation. No injectors = no fuel. The car may fire from the cold start injector if the coolant temp is low enough but it wouldn't run. It wouldn't even start if hot.

Heh. He's got you there Jetty ;)
IMHO just cut the yellow wire and be done with it. Unless you want to perform harness surgery, then by all means, remove the assy properly.
