side mount intercooler???

ok i figured id post this in the gte section,im currently going na-t and only dealing with stock(ish) hp needs
im trying to figure out if my 4in thick smic will work for this project
im trying to save time by just using it as opposed to trying to pick up the stock fmic
the piping diamiter is the same as the stock and i think i can get shorter piping run
would this work with proper ducting
what do you all think

i was thinking of the passenger side right behind where the foglight should be and ducting a secondary vent to pull air from the center piece as well

the reasoning behind this is that i already have the ic (bought it for another project then ended up loosing the car it was for) it looks like i can mount it pretty easily.
im wondering what to do because if not this then i have to buy the stock setup.
im trying to get the car turboed and running, this is like the last thing im running into
