I have a blown N/A with a bangin body and new paint, Suspension, interior, ect...

I am going to drop a 1JZ in the car by the first of the year...

But i need somthing to drive until then, I found a 87 auto turbo (sketchy as hell) that drives and seems to be in good working order for having 200K on it.

So... Should i buy it to get me arround until the swap is done???

He is asking 1500.00:icon_conf

Runs fine, after we replaced the rear end in it and fixed the timing chain in it. Sure, leaks 2 quarts of oil every other week. But it sure runs sweet and gets good mpg. :biglaugh:

87soup, I LOVE YOUR SIG!!!

+1 to that... the Supra in stock form is never more reliable as a daily driver than a Honda or Subaru.

When my supra gets parked im getting an old jeep cherokee 4x4 so i can get off the road a bit :biglaugh: .
Me and a couple of friends just took one off roading last night and buried the thing in a 5 foot deep pool of water and mud...got yanked out by a friends truck, and the damn jeep started up after sitting for a couple hours.
By the way, it was 100% stock.

Buy a "daily" car that you won't want to mod...and for what you "SHOULD" do is be more specific when making a title of a thread. ;)

Ok guy's i bought the car...
The first thing i did was change the oil, tranni fluid, cleaned the engine with degreaser, and cleaned the intake... due to some oil in the pipes:nono:...

After this work i was expecting a nice smooth ride... Nope!
The damn thing wont accelerate, and it overheated...:3d_frown:

So i took the new radiator, Thermostat, and lines off my N/A and put them on the clunker... Figuring this would help the overheating...

Nope!!! The car doesn’t accelerate, and it will over heat, then white smoke will come from the engine... I was thinking the smoke was from the degreaser from the exhaust mani.( it was hard to wipe off, so the chemical is still there)

Oh yah the thing idles from 2 to 3K...:3d_frown:

What is wrong with this bucket???

should have done what I did... bought a little honda beater... I got an 86 Accord hatch to driver around town in the snow and when i'm working on the supra (keep the supra as my night & weekend cruiser)... got the accord for $1000 canadian.. has only 175,000km (around 8,750km a year!) and runs great! only problem is it needs a new clutch, meh $150 shipped for a clutch kit and day or two worth of work and it's good to go!

Supra.. not a reliable daily beater... that's for sure.
