hello i am a new member to the forum i know nothing bout rx-7 i am a currnt supra owner. i am selling my supra for 3500 when i met a guy with a red gtu's i drove the car it was fast as hell what should i look for if i choose to take the car in a trade

Looks Nice. Rotary is a different breed. They have great power capabilities, but are much more intolerant with poor tuning than our conventional piston engines. Ether car is a beauty to have, but you will prob have some people say supra, seeing how this is a supra site. both are great platforms. Tough pick.

I've heard apex seals go out on rotary motors around 75k miles. You'll be looking into a rebuild soon on that thing. Go to some kind of RX7 forum and search about apex seals failing. Good luck.

Oh, and that car being non-turbo will have you wanting more. So you'll be turbocharging that car soon which will cost you more money. I would just keep your Supra and get some kind of piggyback/EMS and do some fine tuning.

i love rx7's i just dont like rotarys if u think the 7m's are leaky bitches try a Wankel. Also they are difficult to repair if u've never done one, but ah well, ur call.

I actually used to own a black 1990 GTUs, it was 1 of 100 gtus's that were produced in 1989 and then when the idea failed they re-stamped the vin#s for 1990, and there was only 100 GTUs's that were re-stamped. I REALLY loved that car, they are deff. a sweet model of the fc, comes factory with 4.30's
no sunroof (origanaly), aluminum hood, no power options, a/c was a dealer added option, tii suspension,wheels,brakes, yada yada....
damn I miss mine....
