Should I Buy This Supra?

Hey guys, I am new here and I have a question.

I went to see a Supra Original Turbo Shell and the guy wants $1,000 dollars for it. The car has the following:

-Mint Black Interior(Painted But It Was Done Extremely Well, I Checked With A Eraser And The Guy Didn't Mind. )

-Tien Super Streets Coilovers
-A1 Rear Chamber Arms
-HKS Turbo Timer
-HKS Electronic Boost Controller
-Two Way Auto Page Alarm With Motion Sensing
-89 Lights
-Pop Up SunRoof
-Five Speed Turbo ECU
-Gauges
-ClutchMaster Stage 2 Clutch(New Never Used) With New Toyota Bearings
-2008 18' Maxima Wheels With New Tires
-Check And It Was Never Hit

Here is the only problem, the VIN tag on the dash is missing since the dash was taken out to be sprayed. The door jam VIN tag is still there and it matches the one on the firewall and on the title. CarFax does not say anything salvage or stolen either.

I am in New York and when registering a car, they only need the title and your information and maybe the bill of sale, no need to see the car.

Inspection wise, everything is okay because I own a shop and we do inspections.....

Does anyone know if this is a bad thing why I should not buy this car? Thanks, Andy.

No, it is in NJ. The one in Philadelphia my mechanic bought. It is a clean car. Is the VIN tag missing on the dash a big problem since the VIN on the door jam and firewall match the title?

My only worry is that if I should ever get pulled over and the officer sees it and I tell him the VIN was lost when the dash was changed, would he accept the story and confirm the car by the door jam VIN or firewall VIN or if I was to get a parking ticket and he sees the VIN missing, would my car get towed? Anyone have ideas?

The CarFax is clean, not salvage or stolen and all the VIN's match the title just the dash one was lost.

Just say that you swapped the dash with one because the previous one was cracked, and the new one didnt have a tag.

You need to relax. He was obviously kidding. If you can't take humor, your time on this board isn't going to very enjoyable. Not to mention GTS is in Texas, I highly doubt you would have much to worry about. One more thing, his car is gorgeous, so I personally don't think he needs another "project".....
