this is my 3rd supra, my last one was a turbo and i rebuilt the head twice and replaced the turbo once but ended up blowing a rod thru the oil pan and sending a piece of the piston head thru the side of the block.....anyway onto my question, this new supra i picked up is a N/A the guy redid the entire engine with new rods, new pistons(not sure what brand he used but they are alittle beefier will have that info later), bored it (.40), used a HKS 1.2 MHG, and raised the compression 10:3, and has a Apexi S-AFC II, and put on pacesetter headers and a HKS sport exhuast, and a clutch master stage 1 clutch. can i either lower the compression and turbo charge the 7M-GE and start with this engine, or should i find a 7M-GTE and build that up then swap them. this new engine has 16K on it and he has the old 7M-GE engine he removed from the car that hes given me. He was a toyota technition for like 4 years so its all done by the book.

You can do either.
The ignition is the major difference with going from the 7MGE to full 7MGTE. You can also just do the turbo part of the conversion (NA>1/2T). Search the site. There has been many discussions on the subject.
Personally, I did the full conversion. Its a lot more involved and you really need a donar 7MGTE car to make things easier.
