would you ship a car from cali to ohio, i have never thought about doing something like this before, just unsure of the whole thing. But it is worth a try.

I had my '90 Supra shipped from NV to OH... took the guy about 4 or 5 days from the day he picked it up to get it to my house. I just searched Google, found numerous shipping companies and got quotes. Good luck.

depends on a few things cost, how much free time you have, how reliable the car is.
I shipped from ms to nv. I also flew to new jersey picked up the 92 and drove back 1900 miles. least worry would be shipping, but if your confident in cars relaibility and want to make it a road trip then drive it. I loved the drive from back east was well worth it. gl either way.

ive shipped 2 cars from CA to TX and driven one of my supras from CA to TX. After the cost of gas, food, and airfare it was actually cheaper to ship the car than it was to drive it.
It is quicker to drive it yourself (did the CA->TX drive with my dad over a weekend where we just switched off constantly, no stops minus food and gas. The shipping took between 4-7 days normally.
Make sure you use a company that is insured and bonded and can do a garunteed pickup and delivery date. Also consider how many times the car will be swapped from truck to truck (i only use companies that only use 1 truck the whole trip). past that if you want door-to-door service or PU/Dropoff at a terminal.

the only thing is that the supra that i am considering doesnt have an engine so driving it is basically impossible. Do the cars go by air or by train?

Very key points. I am not turning this into a 7M bashing but a lot of used MK3's for sale are not mechanically sound due to the head gasket problems. I would never trust an unknown car with a 7M on a long road trip. Tissimo bought a 92 in Boston and didnt make it very far until the car overheated. He had to rent a uhaul and tow it to Florida ($$$). I bought a 92 3 hours away and I threw a rod and blew a HG an hour down the road and had to return with a trailer to tow it home. Just my opinion.... use uship.com. Nine times out of ten they will find a carrier to deliver it to you cheaper than gas, meals, hotel, and airfare.
