find the TSRM through this site. step by step write up with pics. that should be your first stop with any work on your car.

Today is your lucky day againstdawall. Maybe it's because I like your new signature picture. Tis sexay. anyhow, here we go.

Unscrew the shift knob.
Unscrew the screw holding on the shifter trim/radio bezel by where your right leg rests (maybe roll the seat back to see it)
Lift up via the back of the shifter surround, and pull to the rear of the car carefully to release it from the dash area.
Unplug the hazard switch and cigarette lighter
Place trim on passenger floor
Move shifter to the Neutral position
Lift up rubber boot at shifter base and remove 4(four) 10mm bolts.
Place the four bolts somewhere safe (flip up coin holder)
Lift up on the shifter assembly, there is a base gasket on that 4-bolt flange, so it may be stuck a bit. Give it a wiggle and it should come out.

Once the shifter is out, take a pick and remove the shifter base bushing inside the tailshaft housing where the shifter came out of.

With the shifter in your hand, flip it over, see the white nylon bushing at the end? I took a rag, draped it over that nylon bushing so you don't mar the shifter then grabbed it with pliers and rocked it back and forth till it came off. There's plenty of other ways, though. Whatever works, really.

Now is a good time to do a couple things also.
Sogi short shift mod comes to mind.

Change your transmission fluid lately?
It's easy to pour the fluid in this way as long as you're careful to not spill any on the interior.
