Shifter Bushing nightmare

A while back my shifter was really sloppy in my 1987 NA supra so I took of the shifter and saw that my mom ( original owner) had been driving it and the original shifter bushing was completely destroyed. well i replaced it with the marlin crawler ones but since then they keep popping off. I have done it multiple times and recently it has gotten to the point where it will fall off after just a day. I have no idea what could be wrong or what I could be doing wrong?
The bushing feels tight and snug on there and it is difficult to get it on so i have no idea whats wrong.

anyone have any ideas?

This happens sometimes with the MC bushings it seems....call MC and tell them what's up and odds are they will send you another bushing free of charge....next time put a little Molly lube on the socket end to lube the bushing where it snaps onto the stick.
