Well my problem is i cant get the tranny to go into reverse. I just bought it rebuilt from rakk and the only thing that i never got set was the shift points so i was leaning towards that possibly...

loosen the bolt between the shifter & the arm on the side of the tranny, rotate said arm as far as you can towards the rear of the car (put tranny in park, place the shifter in park & then tighten the bolt back up. This should work just fine, shifting into neutral isn't a common problem with A340's.
so while in park loosen bolt and move towards rear of car possible, check to make sure shifter is still in park, and then tighten back up? On a sidenote all my forward gears work great, also it isnt a rod knock that i had though i had developed a few weeks ago. Its something to deal with the timing-is where im hearing it from
