forget set screw knobs, they suck. get whatever knob you want thats threaded. figure out what thread the knob accepts, and thread the stick for the knob. if you have too you can get a piece of pipe to use as an adapter if the remaining stick is too small.

can get pricey but if you know what thread type it is you may be able just to find the sizes you need at the hardware store

listen here. I did this, and it works amazingly.

Cut off the threaded portion of the stock upper half including about 1/4"-1/2" of the non-threaded part below the threads.

Match up a drill bit to the lower half that you would typically thread.
Placing the threaded chunk you cut off in a vice making sure not to damage the threads, drill into the base of it. There is already a pinhole in the center, so it's easy to align the bit.

Drill into it about 1" or so, and test fit it onto the base. Once it fits, either tack, or I used JBWeld, which worked amazingly.

Best part, you can use stock-type knobs. I used a RaZO knob that simply screws on like any stock one would.

the best shift knob is whatever you like personally. you can get the tap and die kits cheap, you dont need every possible thread size known to man. in order to find out the thread pitch and everything else of the stock knob you use the gauge that comes with the kit to measure the thread.

take the top part that you cut off the shifter and measure that, not the inside of the knob.

ill tell you what, you get whatever threaded knob you want and send that to me with your shifter and ill convert it for you for cheap.
