ok,
got this friend I made a few yrs ago, only cos of the supra.

dudes like 49 with a 91 T mint. all stock
i'm 33 this August.

all of a sudden since this summer, we start hanging out.
kick it at a few bars, look at tail... shoot some stick etc...

he's the one that asked if I'd like to go in half on a 91 T for a parts car for both of us, but I declined, now that I need a rear end I wish I would ve. but I know he'd sell me the rear end cheep.... anyway...

I helped him open up his camp at his camp site. typical b/s,, clean it out, type bull shit....
, I told him, I'd like to buy a camper/ trailer some day an camp out with the girlfriend . sometime in the future,// so he tells me he'd put me on the lease an let me use his pop up trailer if I wanted to bring up a piece of ass.. when he's not usinig the trialer... , I'm not into camping that much so I say ok an blow him off...

now I got a 18' open bow ski boat I bought brand new iin 04.

I say, we need to hook up with some ladies an go tubing etc.. .. this being before working things out with the X.. an he's game obviously...

now heres the capper....

he found out I am going to Tucson for a month an decides to be bold enough to ask for some pointers on I guess driving a boat ,,, an that I should just give him the keys for him to use my 15 K ski boat at his lesuire..

I say ok an blow him off..

letting someone drive a boat iin the open river is one thing, I gotta worry about letting some one parralle park a boat into its docking space an pulling it out is another...

boats dont have brakes...

no fucking way am I giving the keys up... its on my home owners policy, an nat, but I still owe about 8 K for it..

I might not be as much worried if he wrecks my boat, as if I am worried if he wrecks into another boat...

so, I say ok, an blow him off.

after a day or 2 of being in AZ, he calls to say whats up not knowing where I am,,, once I tell him, he's really dissapointed that says I blew him off deliberately....

its not like were best of friends, an nat,,, but still,

an I selfish here ?

what alll would you guys an ladies do ?

sorry if long, I tried to put it in easy to read paragraphs...

You shouldn't have blown him off, you should have totally honest with him. Tell him next time you go out with the boat you can teach him how to drive it. Just tell him the cost of the boat, if he really is a true friend he will understand. I tell my friends the same thing when they want to drive my car. They get a little disappointed, but they don't go all emo on me.

^ Agreed. I must say if my friend had a $20k anything that I didnt really NEED to use, I doubt I'd even ask. Now if you said 'hey you wanna borro' muh boat while i'm gone?' I'd be all over it.

defiantly, thats just some turf even real friends don't get around. People offer me to drive their cars a lot, even if its my friends oldsmobile. I just don't like using things of value that I know if something happens to it, even if it was an accident that it could create some bad blood between us as friends. I like to avoid causes so there will be no effect.

lol, in no way did i see any paragraphs...

anyways, if hes a real friend he'll understand. fortunatly, hes well into his life and probably has the funds and security to just lend out a camper so i dunno. its a tough call. dont ever do anything that u are unsure of.

i'm just real perticular on who I let drive my vehicles ,
drive my boat.

its not the same as if you neighbor comes over an asks to borrow your angle grinder or toilet bowl plunger......

and,

its not like I coompletely blew him off. when he would ask me to take him out for the pointers, I would say ok when we have free time. .. but between our sheduals, just never was able to meet up.. well yea, I guess I was blowing him off....

i'm friends with him, but its not like we go way back like 10 or 20 yrs....

I've prolly only kicked it with him at the bars maybe like 4- 5 times....
an maybe stopped over his house another 6 times or so to b/s .....

u blew him nasty man eww. u shoulda been nicer & done him the favor & not have blown him off like that ;).

but IMO u should have just been real with him. thou shalt treat others on how thou shall want to be treated.
its just common courtesy. let a friend know

don't be like..

*him*hey man can i borrow your boat while ur gone??
*you*fuck no or blow him off (right answer woulda been well its not e-z to drive boats & all the other reasons why)
