I live in Tampa and I am looking for a tps sensor. I dont want to have to drive far and Id like to have one by monday (its saturday). Also here is a synopsis of my issue to get some feedback as well.

Complete vacuum line replacement
replaced and/ or repaired all broken, loose, or missing hoses

Car has a habit of not wanting to idle unless when i come to a stop i down shift and let the engine rev down. at about 1000 rpm in second or first gear i press the clutch and the engine 95% of the time wont stall out. any other time or just under normal braking it wants to stall.

Now. I noticed that the idle wants to jump up and down at idle which tells me tps sensor is going out. last night while on the interstate heading to lakeland from tampa, i noticed that the check engine light came on and the engine wanted to hesitate slightly even when i was just holding the gas pedal still at like 75mph at around 2600rpm.

This morning I drove the car home from lakeland and it took $20 in gas to go from lakeland back to tampa!!!! It was hard to accelerate and sputtered and backfired like a mf'r! I finally noticed that when the boost went past 4psi is when the sputtering and backfireing began. and of course before i would get to that point the engine lacked power big time.

Needless to say im throwing away gas ($$) and blowing black smoke like crazy and pissing off other drivers on the road trying to get past 30mph.

sooooooo I think strongly that its the tps finally gone out. But I could be wrong plus before this happened i was getting perfect stock boost all the time and I dont rev or drive it over 3000rpm (recent bearing replacement and hg) roughly 400 miles after working on engine and now this.

any tps sensors locally?

or is it something else.

it doesnt sound like a TPS problem.

its more likely a bad ignition system (coil pack, ignition resistor, arcing plug wire or a fould spark plug) also check the Idle Air Control valve (motor..)

anywayz, it seems like yer getting fuel but not enough spark. even a loose spark plug wire would cause that kind of problem too. ALSO check for any boost leaks. (loose IC clamps, cracked IC hose or a bad/loose accordian hose will cause unmetered air to leak out. IMHO. :)

aite, peace.

I've got the same problem with my 90 white package... Been three months, still haven't figured it out.

Mine throws a code for ign system malfunction...

I've changed ignitors, coil packs, ECU, CPS...

Same thing you describe... car starts missing bad at about 4 psi . Let off the gas, get out of boost, goes back to running correctly.

my car had that problem too. not as bas as yours but it would revv up and down when idleing. whenever i tired to accelerate i wouldn't get any power. it was worse than a 3 cyl geo metro. i changed the spark plugs with some good NGK's and the whole problem went away. i'll tell ya. some good wire plugs are the auto lite. i had bosch's before but the connector would always come out when i removed the plug wire.

sounds like the car is running way to rich to me.

and sounds like alot of peoples i was having while my car was not tuned properly,

buy why on your car?

what are your mods?

again what codes where set? make sure you dont have your foot on the gas or the ac on when checking for codes,
it will give you a false tps code and drive you nuts, i think it's code 51 but cant remember for sure.

i wouldn't be suprized to see a rich/lean code.. are you hittin fuel cut at all?

trippled check for boost leaks, if the car is reading so much incoming air, but it's escaping through a leak, the car will run rich, have the wrong timming and will feel sluggish and blow out black smoke..

You could try these ;)

Seriously, you will need to pull the ECU codes before anyone can help you. Everything else is a guess at this point.

I had exactly thesame problem a while ago.
Turned out I had a crack in one of my spark plugs.

They even were the expensive ngk irridium type. Replaced them with normal ngk (copper) spark plugs (nr. 3330, the colder 88'saab 9000 2.0T type) and my problem disappeard like ice in the sun on a hotass day.

The last time that happened to me, my intercooler hose from the turbo to intercooler popped while I was pulling on my friends 911, offcourse if was hard to see the hose, so I try to make it home. Car would not go past 3000 rpm, barely went over 40mph. Black smoke behind me (car runs extremely rich under those conditions). That caused my spark plugs to foul. Took it to my friends shop, reconnected the hose, changed spark plugs, and was good to go. Sometimes that may be cause by a faulty AFM like Rich said or even forgeting to reconnect the AFM. That happened to me once.:icon_conf

Good luck

ha ha I love the diagnostic blocks!!

Anyway I was talking to a guy last night and he said I was brobabaly leaking boost through my stock bov. I told him i noticed a loud air sound like boost leaking from that direction. he told me to go and remove the bov and close off the openings and drive it around the block to see if it clears up. Did that and i still heard the loud air. i then decided to just pop the hood and mess with the throttle and look for the leak or listen for it. It is def a boost leak, a major one but i couldnt tell where (2am in the morning and no flashlight) so today i am going to look at it. I think its going to be the turbo pipe coming from the turbo outlet to the intercooler. i'd like to hardpipe it but i dont know where to get the supplies to do so on a sunday.

thanks for the help and jokes i appreciate it guys.

intercooler pipe coming from the turbo outlet poped off! bitch!

What do I win? lol

Isnt it a nice feeling when you realize its not as bad as you thought? You might have to also replace your spark plugs.
