So I have all the tranny bolts out, the inspection plates are off, the slave cylinder is off...do I need to reach up in through the inspection area and get the fork out because this tranny will not come off the block? There is about a quarter inch gap between the bell housing and the block and this thing will not come off....should I get a crowbar and pry a little or am I simply missing something?...thanks in advance. Fyi I have the motor on a cherry picker and a jack under the tranny and have been trying to get the right angle to slide the motor off the tranny but it just won't give. Ive decided to take a beer break and see if I'm missing something.

Take the bolts out of the pressure plate! As easy way is to take the slave cylinder of, and use an extension straight through that hole. Turn the motor at the crank pulley to get to each bolt.

Yep, do it the way it shows in the TSRM or you risk bending the fingers on the pressure plate.

You do have to pull the fork out eventually though to remove the preffure plate from the transmission (it just pulls straight out)

Yeah I deff missed those..its out now...it was a bitch by myself not letting the crank turn while loosening the bolts to the PP. Anyway, did I mention I love u guys? Now if everything looks good when I take this oil pan off I'll be happier than a retard in a room full of bounce balls!

Update...when I dropped the pan off there was small flakes of brass by the magnet. Obviously bearings right? I planned on changing the bearings and oil pump anyway but still hoping when I take the caps off the crank looks fine. Everything looked good though that's what I don't get. Crank spins well, there doesn't seem to be any play in the rods or pistons. I'm deffinately replacing bearings and pump like I said just wondering how normal it is to have a little bit of brass flakes in there? Do you think the crank will have damage? Its driving me nuts not knowing I ran out of time to pull caps.
