I came back to Colorado to visit some people and bring my supra back to California. However, she needed a little work before she's road worthy( repair the rod knock). So I dropped the crank off at NAPA to get it polished and ground, it's the only place within 250 miles that can do the work, it suxs being in the middle of nowhere. They said they would have it back in a week. Now the question I have is should I let them pick out the bearings for it, or should I just wait to get the crank back and spec out Toyota bearings myself. I would prefer to pick out the bearings myself as I don't really trust NAPA's bearing sizes as they only have three, but Toyota has five so it wouldn't be as precise if NAPA did it. But that just means that I would need to wait an extra week for Toyota bearings to come in( stuff does not get out here very fast at all FedEx 2nd day takes five days to reach here. I'm a little pressed for time as I need it running and road worthy by the end of the month, and it would really help if NAPA could just pick out the bearings. So those of you who have had experience in the crank and bearing department, Can I trust NAPA to do it right and save me some time or should I just wait and do it myself.

Where in Colorado? Denver? Gunn automotive did the machine work with zero defects when I worked at Toyota in my time. That includes decking heads and blocks. They are in Denver.

Nick M: I'm staying in Craig, Colorado. It's the northwest corner of the state.

IJ : It will defiantly be plastigauged.

GrimJack: You have a good point. I guess I'll go down tomorrow and tell them to just do the bearings.

Thanks everybody for the replies.
