sensor question

sorry theres no pic but someone should know what im talking about, ok , i have a broken sensor, it screws into the block,around the middle, and itsd under the intake, and its a green plug, im not sure what it is, mabey a coolent temp. seending unit?, and it looks like its been broke for a while, so not sure if i broke it when i removed the harness, and if its been broke for a while, my car was running fine. hope someone can understand.

Its a knock sensor.

alright, thank you, is it ok to leave it broke? its just an N/A and basic mods, and i think it was broke while it was running before.

If the knock sensor is broken the ECU will notice this and retard the timing in order to keep the motor safe. This will cause a noticeable performance hit, but no direct damage to anything.

Thanks Bishop, I wasn't about to say any thing as I wasn't sure if the N/A computer retarded timing like the turbo computer does.

Your best bet is to go to a junkyard and find one. If you buy it new from Toyota, its around $125

and it different for the pre 89 right, of just from the turbo modle?
