Sensor for temperature gauge

Yesterday I was driving on a awful road, felt like a up hill slalom. I was taking it easy since I didn't want to go over a cliff and die. Anyway, it was a 80 mile ride round trip. When I got back to the office I smelled coolant burning. First thing I do is think bhg. I pop the hood and see coolant dripping everywhere. Anyway, I'm freaking out trying to figure out where this leak is. I drove home basically idling since it wouldn't keep coolant and anything thing over 2k rpm sent it towards the red. I started tearing it apart checking hose. Well the culprit was a small 90 degree hose near the cps. I replaced it and all is well, save a few cuts on my fingers. My question is about the sensor for the temp gauge. Is it the small one on near the thermostat housing, I believe its green? My temp gauge is not working now and I checked all my plugs and that one just pulled apart, I'm assuming from the heat. I think its the right one just want to make sure. Thanks all.

And that hose should be change prophylactically...

You mean swap it out as often as you have sex?

...in that case, my average hose replacement of once/ 5yrs is "overkill"...

Figured it out. There are 2 1-wire plugs in the same general area. I had them reversed. Swapped them and bam, working well. The hose is holding up like a champ. Thanks for the help guys.
