just got my car the other day from a guy i work with, and just joined the site a few days ago as well. in the intro forum someone suggested i start a build thread.

my plans:

hp: who knows
weight: as light as i can get it
1/4 times: low 11's at least
asthetics: ugly as possible, ie: not doing a damn thing to it

doing a complete teardown and rebuild of the engine/tranny, headwork, turbo, spray, may substitute alky/meth injection for nitrous, fmic and all the regular supporting mods. trying for about a 4-5 month project "hopefully"

the car: 87 turbo with too many miles on it, guy daily drove it for years and years, no aftermarket parts have ever been installed on the engine. he still had the original stock plugs and wires on it. he did install NOS seat covers though lmao.

pics:

these are custom nawwwsssssss seat covers, overnighted from japan:
<edit> wanted to note that was a joke.. i know sarcasm is difficult to detect over the internet lol<><>

important numbers of the engine:

itty bitty turbo, soon to be replaced by one on growth hormone:

custom paint/body work. took 21 years of customizing to get to this level, and i will not risk messing it up with "fresh paint" or "new parts" of any kind:

what i've removed today... seat, tire jack.. basically everything but the trim in the back

those are sunflower seeds in the back seat area, not mouse poop. they had been in there for a pretty long time appeaently lol

more to come as time goes

Once you wipe down the interior so all that yellow dust is gone, and clean the engine up/bay area, you'll have a wicked sleeper.

Did the previous owner ever clean the inside??

i highly doubt it. he put those crappy seat covers over seats that were in good condition, they probably just got dirty and his fix for dirty seats instead of cleaning, was ugly seat covers.

I believe it would probably run 11's now...........but not in a quarter..........:biglaugh:

Good luck with your rebuild, and you must post lots and lots of pictures or you will be drawed and quartered.

Since I'm a gambling man, I'll take the over on the five month rebuild.

you're probably 100% correct as much as i hate to admit it. one of my big problems is that i'm in ky and i can put all this stuff together but i've got to find a shop w/dyno somewhere within a couple hundred miles to tune it. there are a few shops within 150 miles or so, but i wouldreally like to take it to someone who has experience with this motor so i know it's done properly.

I never realized the ebrake boot put such a strain on the motor. I can only imagine what my leather one is doing to it...........:aigo:
