You could wire it in to be that way.

I have thought about it. The light is pointless unless it goes off when you put your seat belt on. Sometimes I think people don't even realize it is there because it goes off so fast.

Yeah that is exactly why I want it to be on longer. It goes off after like 5 seconds so it's useless. I like the idea of start switch like jj said butbif I was just moving my car that would get anotong to flip a switch or fasten the belt when moving out of the driveway or whatever

do you REALLY need a lil light to remind you to put on your seatbelt.

if you're really comfortable in your seat, chance are the belt's not on. lol

or am i the only one that thinks these belts are uncomfortable?

I like them. I have no issues with them, I have had many other cars which I did not like, but the Supra's seat belts work great for me.

Ive taken off without my seat belt on before by accident, and it felt awkward and i quickly figured out what was wrong. I don't feel comfortable without it at all in fact it makes me feel extremely vulnerable.

What you want to do would be a bit of a hassle because the buckle switch is normally open. You could open Integration Relay #1 (although it's not easy to get at) and change the timing capacitor similar to what some have done with the rear defogger switch but imo that's more hassle than it's worth. I just put my belt on before closing the door. The habit is so ingrained by now it's automatic.

Starter interlock is easy: 12 volt relay with the N.O. contact wired in series with the clutch safety switch. One side of the coil gets grounded by the buckle switch while the other side gets power from the clutch switch. That way the relay is only on for a moment (when starting) and not on all the time the belt is buckled. Elementary Waston...
