Notice a few things.

No big pictures.
No pictures of the odometer.
No pictures of the VIN.
There are cactus plants growing in front of the house. And reflections of palm trees in the paint on the car. Unless someone is really trying to make their house look like Mexico, to the point that they are willing to put new cactus plants all around their house every few weeks, there is NO WAY that is located in Vancouver.

That is what I got from the seller:

Hello there,

Thank you for your interest in my 2005 Nissan 350 Z.. I want you to know that I closed my auction earlier because someone has offered me the buy it now price, but didn't have all the money available and I cannot accept financing because time is a real issue for me. The price I want to obtain for it
is $9,000 US (this price includes shipment and insurance charges).
My wife was recently promoted so we had to move in United Kingdom. We brought the car with us, wanting to register it here, but I couldn't because it is a US vehicle and to get it registered here it will need serious engine modifications in order to comply with the EU emission standards, it is
an US model (which complies with the US emission standards: DOT and EPA) and Europe regulations are different from these ones.
Also we didn't pay the duties for bringing it here and if we resell it back to US there will be no more duties to be paid. So that is why I prefer to sell it quick now and get rid of it while I still can, because time is running and I can't keep it like that, there is a deadline term when I must pay the import tax, so I can't afford to lose time and I prefer to make some money while I still can.
The car is like new, completely working, perfect running condition, with no hidden damages or accidents, it has always been garage kept, low miles, 2005 model, with 2 years EXTENDED, INTERNATIONAL and TRANSFERABLE warranty, which will be honored at any dealer from there. It is US model with US specs and passed the US test emissions. It will be as if purchased locally. The car is insured in case of damage and you will receive it at your door in 7 working days . It will come with all the necessary papers (clear title, bill of sale, warranty documents, user’s manual, insurance etc).
The title is clear and you will register it in your state without problems. I will send the car having written on it 'gift' so you won't have to pay any additional taxes.
The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the package will be down to me and you only pay for the money transfer commission when you wire the
funds, which is about 4% from the total amount sent. My wife works for the carrier and her employer will help us out with the shipment (as part of her job benefits). The car is being shipped from London and you won't have to pay for customs or any additional taxes when it will arrive. There may
be some customs for you to pay, but if you wish we can avoid them: you'll declare you send money to a friend and I will declare the shipping as a gift/donation.
I am requesting a $3,000 refundable deposit at the begining of the shipping and the balance to be paid after delivery and inspection. If you are
not 100% content with the car you will ship it back on my expense to get your deposit back. I am sure this will not happen, because it is a state of the art vehicle and you will have no reason not to be content with it.
This is a large purchase and I would like to use a third party for this transaction as I want a smooth and safe transaction. We will use ebay as third party.
First you will pay the downpayment to bay and the reminder you can send it directly to me or trough ebay also. Please note that ebay will hold your deposit of $3.000 until you will confirm that you received the car and you transfered the title into your name.
If you agree with these terms, please send me your full name, home and shipping address, ebay ID so I can register the transaction with ebay asap.

...waiting for your fast answer

I am not sure... still... :S.... ?!?!?!

I suppose it is a scam cos "This listing (4590433441) has been removed by eBay or is no longer available. Please make sure that you've entered the item number correctly. If the item was removed by eBay, please consider this transaction canceled. If anybody contacts you to complete the sale, please ignore the request. Completing the sale outside of eBay may be unsafe and will not be covered by eBay purchase protection programs." ...

but how do I know if ebay took it out or the seller?!?!? Plus he is offering to use ebay to keep the money till I confirm everything is ok....

yeah thats a new one on my useing a ebay escrow account to hold the money it sounds like a scam. But if the escrow is legit then he wouldent get money till you accept the vehicle if Im correct. So doing it this way would screw him. Idk man it sounds good and bad at the same time. Maybe you can get him to send better pics or something with like you screenname on the windshield of the car.

ya I know what you mean when you say it sounds good and bad at the same time...
If we can really do it over ebay then he wouldn't see any money till I confirm everything is ok...

Is it possible to do the whole money thing over ebay even tho the "item is no longer available"?!?!?!

No, he's offering you the car if you pay him a $3000 deposit. If you were to proceed, you would find that the 'ebay escrow' service he is using is likely a look-a-like page created by him to steal your money, he'll get $3000 and you'll get to keep some pictures of a 350z that he borrowed off the internet somewhere.

I'd be willing to bet that a little searching on CarDomain would pull up that exact car (hell, probably even the same photos ) - with a totally different owner, who has zero intention of selling.

what Ebay should do, is before some one can sell a car on ebay, it has to go through a verification of ownership, like vin #, owner name is correct, all the correct registration papers from the DMV, ect.
bet that would cut the scaming out %100

yeah.... they should find a way to prevent that from happening... but since car pics are all over the internet, it is really easy to make up a story, post it on ebay and make some good money. they are trying with all that "keep the money till the buyer confirms everything is ok" but still...

thank you again, dave... supramania. I guess in the end I would have said no anyways (after talking to "the man"), so you saved me alot of trouble and I don't waste my precious time thinking about it anymore.

Even if eBay did this, there would still be scammers. They'd just move to another product - cars are easy to trace, but there are many products that are not. Jewelry, watches, collectables... the list is literally endless. And the scammers don't stop trying, either.

I'll gladly point out the scams when and where I can - I've been busted once or twice, and I firmly believe in karma in this type of thing.

i actually got that same email response, and as soon as i saw out of the country, i checked on cardomain as grimjack did, and reported it to ebay when i saw that page. i hate scammers. i'm trying to sell a couple of cars at the moment, and man, they harass you like none other. like anyone in nigera wants to buy a celica.
