Save cash on Titan Catalytic

I had seen somewhere where someone asked about the flanged catalytic converters for the Supra...

Well you could go to Titan and pay 180+shipping from the 'supra vendors'

Or you could just go to Summit Racing and pay 140$ for the EXACT same Catalytic from Catco. Yup the Titan is a catco. (Mine has a big ol Catco logo on top)

Just a heads up... I didnt shop around enough and missed this.:icon_evil
(just make sure you select the right flange size)

OH SNAP!!! man, i'm looking for a CAT right now! This is great information. Do you know the exact model number for your CAT? I went through hundreds of catco cats and havn't found one that fit exactly, but it seems you've found one!

OR Call Titan tell them and see if they'll price match so you can both support one of our vendors and save the $$! ;)

Or you can buy it, and save yourself some money and spend it elsewhere, where you see fit.
nothing wrong with going somewhere else for something cheaper.

You may not have money to throw around, but if nobody supports our venders because a few other places like summit that don't really cater to us are a few bucks cheaper.... We won't have venders anymore.

There is a difference between a small price difference and then there is the 49$ difference where you open a box from a company and see 'cat co' on the cat which is the same 'cat co' that costs less where you buy your gm stuff.

I support the vendors and as a matter of fact I just took a beating on this catalytic. See I know the TITAN is a CAT CO because I just bought it! Its on my 91.
Now on my Jimmy is the same cat-co cat and I got it from summit the flanges are the only difference....

Its just like the guys on Ebay with the dragger exhaust and the Tein Shocks... They know what we look for... Have you seen what some of those 'vendors' charge for shipping???

WHO doesn't want to save themself some money? I certainly do not have money to throw around like some may have for the Supra.

I think they just bought a catco cat and stuck their own flanges. I will do the same too. Ebay magnaflow cat is the shortest 3inch one I've found for 60 USD. throw on 50 USD more for flanges and labour and you got the entire thing for 110USD. Save yourself 60-70 USD. Not bad eh? I can use that cash for further repairs or something.

Guys, the high cost is not for the CAT. It is for the labor to weld the flanges on to be a direct replacement.

If you can weld, or don't care about the bolt on nature, then yes buying a universal is the cheapest way to go.

shiny or not, it doesn't really affect the price. most universal cat's arent more than 80-100 bux. good price for high flow. You just gotta flange it your self so it can bolt on. not a problem for us people who like to truly DIY custom work on our own rather than just buy something as simple as a cat for BPU. I'd rather support a vender by buying supra specific stuff i can't do myself, or can't get done locally. But in all reality if you buy a Universal cat and have a shop install it flanged properly it would cost about as much in the end as just paying for the bolt on piece...
