That Neon is pretty damned quick. Too bad it's still a Neon... Looks like a good highway for Harry Potter to hide on and hand out some magical pink slips to you guys. ;)

I never did like comments like this. Imagine someone saying, "too bad it's just an old MKIII supra." Either way the SRT-4 kicked both of their asses. Have some kind of respect for other car enthusiast even though it may be "just a Neon, Honda, etc." Especially when they're handing your ass to you.

The SRT4 is a pretty neat car. its FWD Handicap but man they are quick on a roll and there 3rd gear is pretty sick. for a car that sold for under $20,000 brand new its pretty cool.

Theres a reason i still have my srt-4 after all these years and it surr as hell isnt for the plush interior. ;)
Last time i dynoed on my stock turbo i made 286whp and 366wtq. Those cars are torque monsters which makes them fun as hell to drive, and very formidable highway machines! With a 6500rpm redline the stock gears will go up to 170+mph.

The highest hp to date in my supra is 358 whp, even then the srt would make it it's bitch.

OP: Good run!

Those supra drivers got some horrible drivers. Either way both supras are stock your not gona win races because of te name of you car. Its about mods. So head to head stock supra wins. Mod to mod supra wins. Stock supra vs modded srt4 the sport package neon wins

Eh, fair enough I suppose. I've never been upset by people picking on my old car though. Hell, my brother continually calls it a Daytona. :p

Always wanted to run one to be honest, there are supposedly a couple really quick ones around here, but we've never been at the same place at the same time. I almost bought one before buying my first Mk3. Would have been faster, sure, but... FWD just kills it. Would be curious to see these two cars at the track. Too much torque on a Neon (the SRT is quite torquey for a 4 cylinder), and you'd be wheel hopping through your first couple gears.

I think most of my comment came from a styling perspective. Performance-wise, that Neon is damned quick, like I said. It's still fugly though... That was what I meant man. :)

Yeah we always call them football helmets. My friend always tells people who call it a neon..
"Its a neon now but when i destroy you are you gonna tell your friends you lost to a neon or SRT-4?"

At the Track is where we were coming from :)

MK4-12.91x @108mph (Street Tires?) I know it had 20inch wheels
MK3-13.467 @ 102mph 2.3 60ft off name street tires (18 inch wheels) 245/40/R18 (also i was on 13 psi at the track)
SRT-4-13.411 @ 110 2.8 60ft (BF goods Street Tires) Stock 17x6.5 rims 245/50/R17

Well the mk4 supra, your rolling a 7mgte. I kno fo sure by listen to the audio the neon has downpipe and str8 exhaust. The supra on stock piping. Disadvantage really. And the srt4 isnt stock on 20 lbs of boost.

Supra MK4 has 3inch turbo back
I have 3inch elbow back
The SRT-4 has 3inch Turbo Back Side Exit

I never said any of the cars were stock just that all where on stock turbo's.

If anything that dude in the srt-4 needs to learn to drive... that 1/4 time is pathetic.
12.6@110mph w/ a 2.1 60' would be a lot more accurate for a stocker running 20psi wit boltons.

neon is lighter.

Also psi doesnt really mean much. The turbo on the neon is itsy bitsy small.

ya track prep really does make a diff, i was able to cut a 1.8 60' on crappy 225/40/18 street tires on my srt-4.

Yea the snail is SUPER small, but the spool is insta-quick!

the neon is still over priced for what they are but they can be fast

You're crazy. Brand new they were a steal, and they've just kept their resale value for obvious reasons.

Also, I got respect for SRT-4's after being beaten terribly by one. Was on the highway and went from 70mph roll and he walked on me like I threw a boat anchor out the back of my car...

I'd have to disagree with you on the resale value Poodles, one in decent condition with the usual bolt ons (very hard to find one thats always been stock) can be had from $5k-7k. One in good condition with pretty low miles <50k can be had for $10k-12k.
