To all those who gave their lives. To all those who lost a loved one. And to all those who sacrificed to help on 9/11...

We miss you, we love you and we cherish your memory. You haven't, nor will you ever be forgotten.

A special THANK YOU to all the men a woman who provide this country with service and security. Police, Firefighters, EMS, Coast Guard, Military, Etc. Stay safe and come home.

In honor of 9/11, please post names of loved ones, or where you were when you first heard or saw the chaos of that day.

I didn't lose anyone that I'm aware of that day. All though there were several close calls. But I remember exactly where I was when I first heard and saw the absolute havoc that was brought to this soil that day. After staying up all night with friends at our local 24 hour Starbucks, I came home and was playing Gran Turismo at 6:30 in the morning west coast time. I got a text saying turn my tv on. I flipped to a news channel just to see the replay of the first plane hit the first tower. I thought it was a new movie!! To my absolute and udder shock, It wasn't... I swear... my heart hit the floor and I welled up with tears. I couldn't believe my eyes. I will never forget. ::salute::

Ironically, I was in history class that day, studying our involvement in the Afghan war with the Russians:

Also ironic was that a friend of mine decided to wear his "I ♥ NY" shirt that day. He showed up to school about an hour before the attacks happened, but man he pissed off some people that day...

Anyone remember The Lone Gunmen? If so, you might remember the pilot episode more or less "predicted" what happened that day.

^ Right?

I lived in New York at the time but was in Texas on a business trip (I'm old). The cocksucker that I was there installing software for decided not to mention anything about it for an hour even though he was watching it on his TV in his office and tried to get me to keep working. I walked out and went to an applebees and drank and watched that shit on TV. My ex wife called me freaking out since she was still in NY and I went and rented a car and hauled ass home.

You mean there are actually people on this forum who were born before 9-11? I'm shocked...
Yeah, I know... seems like that line of "those who choose to forget history are doomed to repeat it" really kicked in that day. Just makes me wonder what Pakistanis or Afghans that we will be dealing with as "insurgents" in another couple decades since we "freed" them of the tyranny of the region. :nono:

The entire thing just reeks of convenience for our military, and the massive amount of money flowing through it at our expense. Always has to me...
