Hey all. Someone Please help me here.

Im installing my SAFC and When Im reading the wiring Diagrams, It tells me to Connect the following

Pink wire to the Air Flow Signal Output wire
Orange wire to the Air Flow Signal Input wire

Im looking at the ECU wiring Diagram and It doesnt tell me which one is the Output wire and which one is the Input wire... Can someone help me here with this.

88 Supra Engine.

Thanks
Robert

there is only one airflow signal wire to the ecu. what you do is cut it in half. the side coming from the afm connects to the orange wire and the side going to the ecu connects to the pink wire.
this is how the afc works. you have the afm signal coming in to the afc. the afc reads that input. it adjusts it to your settings, then sends that modified signal to the ecu.

make sense?

Makes sence.... Here is my Delima. I looked at the wiring Diagram for a 88 Supra turbo and on the 24 Pin connector, I have a (KS) and a (VC) wire and the Diagram says both of them are Air Flow Meter Wires. Which one do I connect into. The SAFC wiring Diagrams Points to the Bottom Wire which would be the (KS) but I just want to make sure.

thanks for your Help All

I drew these up myself just on this particular basis to help others out a little. These are from my first SAFC. I now have the SAFC II ( black one ). The only differnce is that the new one has more wires for the Knock sensors etc.

Enjoy the fruits of my labors LOL

The pictures are showing the ECU pinouts as you would look at them with the ECU still in the dash. Up is up and bottem is bottem, same for right and left ( noted if you look closely).

Pink= A/F OUT
Orange= A/F IN

If you look in the last pic, the wiring must be cut ( factory harness) where the pink and orange wires must go from the SAFC.

The reason is that your changing the signal (why you need to cut the harness), not just 'intercepting' the signal ( what splicing does) to display on the SAFC screen.

In this said, the Orange is the signal coming from the ecu to the SAFC ( the stock signal that you want to change). So then you change the signal. Then the SAFC sends the NEW signal out of the PINK wire to the engine....

there you have it.

Hey all, Just wanted to say thanks for the Help. I got it installed and It says run it at Idle for 5 Minutes to let the SAFC Set itself to the Vehicle conditions....

Ok, I did that. What I noticed is that the more I let it set, the farther towards Rich the Wideband went. Right now, Its all the way over to 10.0 on the A/F Mixture and Im trying to correct it.

I downloaded the Manual but Im not for sure how to set this thing up to read or how to Adjust the Airflow. Any Help would be greatly Appreciated. I feel Stupid not knowing how to follow simple Instructions out of a Manual
