I did a real quick write up on an idea of how to replace your ugly climate control with your Safc!
Since im not using AC or heat, i decided i wasn't going to go the route of "lets glue our safc to our gauge cluster or vents". This is a bit cleaner IMO.
Pictures came out like shit, but you get the idea!
First, remove the actual electronic part of the climate control, by taking out the two bolts in the back of the unit.
I then painted the empty shell glass black (the stock colors ugly) and cut a peice of half inch(iirc) thick wood about a 1/8th inch smaller than the climate control. Make sure it measures and fits the actual shell also!!
Then i drilled two holes on the bottom of the climate control shell to put two small screws to hold it to the wood. Also, i did one smack dab in the middle of the top.
Quickly test fit the SAFC, and as you can see it actualy lines up perfectly flat with the shell.
Paint the whole unit one more time to get the wood as well as any cracks you may have missed at first
I drilled off the little side compartment for easier wireing access, and quick removal if needed.
Voila.
Sure, its not perfect, and its not amazing looking, but it doesn't cost anything, and it looks better than the freakin' climate control and the SAFC glues to the dash board!
Comments, + and - welcome, questions concerns!>!??!?
ANd i can get the EXACT measuments if someone actually desides to do this.
