SAFC-II on a bone stock 89 Turbo Automatic

Would there be any use to putting a SAFC-II in a 100% stock 89 Turbo? My fathers car is 100% stock and if I decide to not use the safc (thinking about the maft-pro) I could give it to him.. but I dont know if it would do anything for him

yes it would help. as rich as they run from the factory from 4.5K+ you could tune it in to 11.5-11.8 range and pick up some power. prob along the lines of 15-20rw or so.

Howdy Doodie KYDAve! Sure was great talking to ya the other day. Would any stock car benefit from an AFC? (such as a 6-spd. Max) .

BTW, got the walbro and fuel tank in place - just gotta install the other tank band, (easier said than done). HKS SS turbo is in place. Things coming together now. Laterz!

yes it would it runs rich from the factory, maybe Joe(Schesso) will speak up, he tuned a stock fuel system with one and gained upwards up 35RWHP!

Would it be safe tuning a stock car with a safc on it without having an egt or wideband meter? you won't be able to check wheter you're killing your engine or not.

I would get the safc installed and have a shop tune it.

Or get a wideband so you can then tune yourself, and after another modification, re-tune, modify, re-tune, modify, etc.. the wideband pays for itself over time, unless u plan on turning the bone stock Supra into a huge hp monster in one shot, having one dyno session, and calling it a day.

I would just add the safc-ii and nothing else. He likes his supra stock. I just figured if it could be tuned as is it would give him a little more performance. My car is the toy, its getting all the upgrades to reach the 400hp range.
