so, as many of you may have read, my car isnt nearly up to par in the body department. i'm willing to bet i have one of the worst looking supras here on supramania. am i embarassed? nope, not at all. these are the first pictures i've ever posted of my car, (full car shots). i've mainly focused on the rust spots that i need to get fixed. please take note of the missing trim in places, bent/broken trim, rust, cracked and faded paint. (these pics actually make the car look WAY better than it does in real life! ((very surprised about that))

here's the list of new (second hand but good shape) stuff that's going on:

-2 front fenders
-2 front mudflaps
-front bumper cover
-front lip
-2 doors w/ glass/motors etc...
-all 86.5-88 style trim, which will be painted black, (same as body)
-4 MKIV TT rims

here's the list of "upgraded" bodyparts going on, which i have already:
-hatch visor
-the ultra-rare 86.5-88 front blinker cover with the air duct
-NSX headlights (popups;)) for my half height projector project. :)

the list of exterior pieces i still need:
-89+ euro folding mirrors
-89+ tails
-rain guards

i have my antenna shaved, and i'm shaving the rear wiper, too, as i never ever use it, and i NEVER drive the car in the rain! staying wingless;)

on to the pics:

front shot screwed up lip/bumper, might not show much in the pic:

rear shot, with my custom tails (which i'll abandon for some 89+ tails soon:

side rear:

front:

i used to have a very crappy, smelly gray leather interior, with a really shoddy carpet that was glued down over the OEM carpet, cracked dash, broken stereo bezel, etc... basically, the interior was horrible. i bought TONY!'s interior, and put it in my car before winter really set in.

unfortunately, i dont have any before shots, as i never used to have a digicam... :( oh well, take my word, it was very bad. :(

during the interior switch:
p149564_5.jpg

after: (not 100% done in this shot, still needed a few bits and pieces, such as the door panels, which i'll put on when i put the new doors on...) yes, i know, i need a new steering wheel. i'm looking for an 89+ non-airbag wheel. i'll get there. the interior will remain stock looking for a while, then i'm thinking of dying parts of it black, so it'll be black and gray. please take note that i hadn't cleaned the dash vents yet...
p149564_6.jpg

some rust shots in the post below...

i've also got several custom lighting tricks up my sleeves, aside from the NSX conversion. i'm not telling until they're done, though. ;) (no, they arent neons or ground effects lighting) (but they are interior AND exterior, and that's the only hint i'll give away)

anyway, thanks for looking, and i hope you enjoyed this! any comments, suggestions, interrogations welcome. :)

P.S. i have dialup, and this post took forever to make! :(

engine bay, nothing pretty... yet;)
p149566_1.jpg

and here are some of my rust shots, wooo! :
p149566_2.jpg

p149566_3.jpg

p149566_4.jpg

basically, there's trim falling off, rust holes THROUGH the doors, bubbling over the rear fenders, mud flaps are trashed, and almost falling off, front fenders are trashed near the mudflaps... etc...

Well if it wasn't for the rust and the interior being out of it, doesn't look too far off from the shape most are in, including mine. the ONLY thing that looks good on mine is under the hood;)

It'll be nice to see the progress on your car Shaeff.

thanks. it's going to be a not-so-slow process if all goes well. i'm not sure whether or not i'm going to do the bodywork/paint, or if i'm going to get it done.

i'm definately putting all the new panels on. i just dont think i have the time to do the bodywork. :(

Cant wait to see the finished product. To be honest after all these years man from I-supra, sf's, and sm along with a few other forums im sure this is the first time I've even seen ur car.
If you have any body work questions feel free to ask.
Keep it up man!

Yeah, Shaeff's very secretive like that.
However, I don't think I'd be too thrilled to show it off either...

Looking forward to progress Shaeff!

yeah, i'd really like to remove my moldings, but retain the side markers. wouldnt be TOO difficult, but it'd add to the amount of time that i already dont have to work on it... ya know?

two things...

1) you WONT find 89+ folding mirrors because there is no such things...the jdm/euro folding mirrors were 87-88 style.

2) its simply an 89 steering wheel you are looking for...i have yet to see a 90 without an airbag even though i believe it was just an option that year....and the 91-92 had them standard..... theres on in the FS section i believe somewhere i saw it...actually i think evil twins had one...

other then that get to work and make that bitch look sexy again ;)
